PatientCompanion’s story began when Christy Lee, volunteering on a medical‑surgical floor, noticed how often nurses were called away by traditional call‑bell alerts that offered no information about what a patient actually needed. Developed in Canada, the idea took shape as she saw how this lack of context created unnecessary strain in an already fast‑paced environment. Wanting to ease that burden, she envisioned a simpler way for patients to share their needs upfront. That spark grew into a patient‑friendly, communication‑focused platform designed to support nurses and create smoother, more meaningful interactions in care settings.
